GITAM (Deemed to be University)
Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) came into existence in 1980. It has two off campuses one at Hyderabad which was established in 2008 and other at Bengaluru established in 2012. On 13 th August, 2007, GITAM was declared as a Deemed to be University u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 through a notification issued by MHRD. It is a matter of great pride that GITAM was accredited with A+ grade by NAAC in the second cycle of accreditation valid for a period of five years from 2017. The University Grants Commission has accorded 12(B) status to the University facilitating research funding. GITAM has all the major disciplines – Technology, Management, International Business, Pharmacy, Science, Architecture, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Gandhian Studies, in addition to the Centre for Distance Learning.
GITAM Institute of Management (GIM)
Since its establishment in 1988, GITAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (GIM), a constituent unit of GITAM University, has dedicated itself to the cause of quality higher education in management. It has been successfully shaping the careers of young minds for the nearly 3 decades and has emerged with laurels at the forefront of professional management education and research. GIM offers various graduate, post-graduate and doctoral academic Programmes which are constantly updated to match
the latest industrial and societal requirements. GIM’s strength lies in its Faculty. The institute has 47 full-time, 9 part-time and 12 visiting faculty members. Majority of them hold Ph.D. and are from industrial background. Several of the Visiting faculty are from USA, UK, Canada, Zambia and Papua New Guinea. Diversity of teaching methods, practical and situational delivery of courses, exposure to real life managerial situations through case studies and use of information and communication technology characterize the unique and enriching teaching-learning ambience at GIM.
